About

Looking for a heart-pounding challenge that's perfect for groups, birthday bashes, or team-building? Look no further than our Escape River Island – an experience that promises epic memories and friendly competition!

Here's the scoop: Up to 6 teams of 2 people each will be led by our Adventure Host to a remote 48-acre private island on the Waccamaw River. Get ready for a dose of Survivor-style excitement as you and your teammate tackle 10 thrilling challenges, unlocking clues to release your tandem kayaks. The ultimate final challenge? Racing a half mile up the river back to our Outpost in the grand Paddle Battle!

Your Adventure Host will be your guide and cheerleader throughout the challenges on the island. From endurance tests like "Balls in Balance" to brain-teasers like "Crack the Code," each challenge is designed to test your skills, teamwork, and a touch of strategy.

Here are the 10 challenges:

  1. Balls in Balance - endurance challenge balancing a ball on a wooden disc
  2. Stair Puzzle - figure out how to build your steps to the top of the platform
  3. Water Race - transfer water down the stairs to fill a pipe to reach floating key
  4. Walk the Line - cross a slack line to unlock a box
  5. Knock'em Down - toss bean bags at your target wall to knock down 6 targets
  6. Spell it Out - solve the word puzzle to unlock box
  7. Hole in One - roll a ball up the ramp into the hole
  8. Build it Better - tie sticks together to knock a key off 6 ft above your head
  9. Crack the Code - figure out the 4 digits to unlock your kayak
  10. Paddle Battle - race to the finish line in kayaks

All of our challenges are designed for two players teams but if you have an odd number in your group we can have a team of three players.

A single team of two people can race against the clock if no other teams have signed up for that time slot.

The total time for this experience is about 2 hours. The average amount of time racing is 45 - 55 minutes per team.

FAQ

We have two different Survivor-style adventure games, one is called Escape River Island and the other is SURVIVOR Games. Here are the differences in the two:

  1. Escape River Island takes place on our island so players must kayak down to the island and the final challenge is called the Paddle Battle where they race back up river against the current to the finish line. SURVIVOR Games takes place in our field, no boating required to get there but kayaking is included in the price so players can go kayaking before or after the games but it isn't required nor part of the challenges.
  2. RACE vs POINTS: SURVIVOR Games does each challenge one at a time and teams score points for how they finish each challenge and a winner is determined at the end by whichever team has the highest score. The Escape River Island challenge is a race between the teams to complete the challenges as fast as they can and race back up river in their kayaks. If a team struggles on a particular challenge it may hurt their chances of winning.
  3. Both have fun challenges that all ages enjoy but the kayaking portion makes the Escape River Island challenge a little more of a strenuous physical activity.
  4. SURVIVOR Games is designed to allow larger groups and groups of various sizes to compete against each other (it could be two solo teams competing head to head or it could be 6 teams of 4 people each battling it out). Escape River Island can be played with a team of 3 but it is best played in teams of two with a max of 6 teams at a time (similar to an Amazing Race format).
