  • Birdwatchers and wildlife photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to join us as we look for interesting birds at the Pinckney Island NWR, SC.

  • Over the course of this 2 hour walking trip, we will explore the woods, marshes and the shores of the ponds and beaches of the refuge.

We will get started at 8 :00 am to check out what is flying around the Ibis pond. Here we will be on the lookout for various species of shorebirds, herons, egrets, ducks, warblers and other songbirds.
We will also search for Clapper Rails, Woodstorks, Ibis, Bitterns, terns and gulls.

Viewing Aid Recommendations:
A camera equipped with a zoom/telephoto lens (200 mm or more), spotting scope, or binoculars are highly recommended for this trip.

For your peace of mind and safety, social distancing will be practiced throughout the duration of this trip.

Physical Difficulty:
Easy to moderate (walking on grassy & occasionally damp paths & sandy shoreline ) 2 – 5 miles possible)

Travel: Not included.
