Bird watchers and photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to join us as we spot the interesting birds over the course of this 2-hour walking trip exploring the shoreline and woods of Airlie Gardens in Wilmington, NC.

During the spring and summer months, we’ll be on the lookout for Painted Buntings, as well as various species of Warblers, Terns, Gulls, Willets, Ibis, Oystercatchers, Plovers, Sandpipers, Egrets, Herons, Black Skimmers, Ruddy Turnstones, Pelicans, Osprey and other shore/marsh birds.

When winter arrives we will search for shorebirds, woodpeckers, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Egrets, Herons, gulls, and ducks.

Viewing Recommendations: A zoom/telephoto lens (400 mm or more), spotting scope or binoculars are recommended for this trip.

*Dress in comfortable loose fitting neutral colored clothing (no white T-shits please) and make sure to apply sunscreen and bug spray before we head out to protect your skin.

Physical Difficulty: Easy to moderate (walking on sandy, grass and paved paths in warm weather) 1 – 2 miles possible.

Lodging: NOT included, there are multiple lodging accommodations available nearby in Wilmington, NC.

Transportation: NOT included, during duration of the tour.
