Private Day Sail & Dolphin Watch

See Folly Beach like Never Before!

About

Sail Folly sails daily at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm from the Folly River boat landing located on Center Street. During the two-hour sail, we often see dolphin, pelicans, herons, osprey and egrets as well as other wildlife common to the low country. We can beach the cat at one the nearby isolated islands and do some shelling or go for a swim. Your captain is an experienced maritime guide who can tell you all about the maritime history and culture of Charleston and the low country. Bring a camera and feel free to BYOB! We have a cooler on board. Book online now!

WHAT KIND OF BOATS?

The catamaran is a Stiletto 27, built for speed but also very stable. Our power boat is a 20 ft center console with room for comfortable seating.

IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD BRING ALONG?

Sunscreen, bottled water or beverage of your choice. Come in your swim suit, and if the group wants to, we can stop for a swim. The boat has a swim ladder for easy boarding from the water.

WHERE WILL THE BOAT GO?

Based on wind direction, we can sail down the Folly River past the beach on your left, and out into the larger Stono River near the ocean inlet. We can also sail up nearby Folly Creek and sail past wildlife and shrimp boats. Either way, there is plenty to see and explore!

DOES THE CAPTAIN PROVIDE NARRATION?

The tours narrated as much or as little as you like. The captain is a professional maritime guide with a wealth of knowledge about low country history and culture. He will gladly tell you stories about colonial times, the Civil War, or piracy's great age.

WILL WE SEE DOLPHIN AND OTHER WILDLIFE?

Dolphin, pelicans and other sea birds live here year round, and the chances of seeing dolphin are very good.

ARE FOOD AND BEVERAGES ALLOWED ONBOARD?

There is a cooler on deck for you to bring drinks. Feel free to bring snacks too.

HOW SAFE IS THE BOAT?

Very. We may glide along at a pretty good clip, but since the catamaran is twin-hulled, it remains very stable and does not heel (or lean over) as single-hulled sailboats do.

IS THE BOAT PET FRIENDLY?

Small to medium size dogs welcome

CAN WE TIP THE CAPTAIN OR CREW?

Sure! If you had fun, then gratuity is appreciated!
