Ships of the Sea Museum exhibits ship models, paintings and maritime antiques, principally from the great Era of Atlantic trade during the 18th and 19th centuries. The Museum's Collection is housed in the elegant home built for William Scarbrough. William Scarbrough was the lead investor for the Steamship Savannah, which was the first steamship to ever cross the Atlantic.

Ships of the Sea boasts the largest private gardens in the historic district! The Museum is arranged for self-guided tours. Please expect to spend at least one hour on site to explore the galleries and gardens.

Admission:

  • Adult: $15.00.
  • Student, Senior, Military: $12.50 (through high school or college with ID)
  • Child: Free (5 and under)

Hours of Operation:

  • Tuesday - Sunday 10am-5pm (last admission is at 4:15pm)
  • Closed: MLK Day, President's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
