Step into the rich tapestry of history with our Walking History Tour of Jacksonville - Downtown/Lavilla. Explore the once vibrant neighborhood of Lavilla, known for its significant contributions to Black history and its ties to legendary figures such as James Weldon Johnson, Eartha M. M.White, and Louis Armstrong. Immerse yourself in the captivating music history, visit fascinating historical sites, and let our knowledgeable tour guides bring the past to life.

On our neighborhood visit we will explore the few remnants in LaVilla and illuminate Jacksonville’s rich Black American story.

On your tour we visit or admire visit places of interests and memorials relevant to the aforementioned individuals, read placards and learn about those who helped to shape a National Labor Movements. We stop at the first public school for black children in Florida and hear about local and Black leaders that influenced the NAACP, The National Labor Movements, Desegregation and “The Great Migration” of black Americans from the south.

We will walk past grounds related to First Nations People, areas related to Pre and Post Civil War time period, Emancipation, Reconstruction, the Great Fire, the "Jim Crow" eras, the 1960’s Civil Rights movement and activities relevant today.

We will learn about those citizens who contributed to art, literature, music, religion, politics, and activism that yielded a movement of Artisans and Activists, Builders and Entrepreneurs and Faith Leaders that helped give birth to the ""Harlem of The South".
